A village on the border of North and South Korea. Panmunjom was the main place of peace talks between the U.N. and N Korea and China, and Panmunjom was eventually the place where the 1953 armistice was signed which in a nut shell ended the Korean War. Panmunjom was chosen because it was not only on the borders but it was in the small strip of neutral zone between North and South Korea.
