Polio Vaccine

Vaccine: First tested in 1952, the polio vaccine was tested Jonas Stalk. The vaccine contained a dose of dead poliovirus. Although the vaccine prevented the host from obtaining the virus the host was still able to be a carrier. So if the host came into contact with another who didn’t have the vaccine then the person Not vaccinated) would obtain the virus. This vaccine wasn’t the most successful but it successfully prevented someone from obtaining the Polio virus. (Akash)
